I have been enjoying the meal kits

I have been enjoying the meal kits. The prep has been fun and I've been doing something I've long disliked, which is mixing fruit and meat. My least favorite combination (sweet with savory). However, every dish that had fruit of some sort mixed into the sauce or prep with the meat dish has been fantastic. So this is a huge turning point for me.

Good recipe but time consuming to make and since I am just one person, I end up overeating, so I need to cut back.

Nearly Stellar Service

Service is usually prompt, quality, and safe. Unplanned substitutions are handled well, with only an email and a paper note needed. Boxes used to arrive soaked due to condensation from the melting ice packs, but they've gotten better at delivering the package before that happens. Occasionally vegetables show up with decay on one or two pieces. I don't mind personally, but it is less than a perfect experience.

Good food for a relatively cheap price per serving. Always arrives fresh and I’ve had very few issues with the deliveries being on time

Blue Apron is a Game Changer

I started using Blue Apron 5 months ago. I had been through a period of feeling lousy and had absolutely no inspiration to cook, especially since I live alone. Blue Apron has been a game changer for me. The recipes are so creative and I've discovered so many spices that I never used before. I recommend it to all of my friends.

Great meal service

Great service. It’s not the least expensive but it is definitely the best meal service for us. Every meal is fantastic, we are very happy with Blue Apron!

The recipes we have received in the…

The recipes we have received in the past three months have been consistently excellent. Occasionally there have been one or two items missing, but this is not at all typical. As a whole, we are finding Blue Apron to be an excellent service. The food is always fresh, well packaged, and delicious. We have especially appreciated the generous serving sizes!

I paid for 1 week as a gift to a friend. When they pick their week will they have to buy the next week? I assume they have to give you a credit card before shipping the gift. Do they have to cancel immediately once they receive the gift to avoid being charged for the next week?

A:

This seems to be Blue Apron's way of holding up a (false, pseudo) customer base for purpose of over-inflating their numbers for investors.

Are there choices of meals when I order? Will I know the exact time or meal will arrive?

A:

Hello. You do not know what time the box will arrive, just which day, and you pick which day you want it. I have never had anything spoiled or overheated in our box; there are "ice packets" in it. So as far as choice of meals... when you first sign up you can make choices about things you don't want. We selected no seafood and no walnuts. I wouldn't go crazy opting out of stuff; you can imagine that takes away so many options for delicious recipes. If you have a lot of special food needs, I don't think a meal service is for you. Anyway, we get our box on Tuesdays and on Monday I receive an email saying my box is on its way and what recipes are in it. That email also tells you what's coming for the next week. You can change your recipes up to a few days ahead, which might be convenient if you are worried about what you are getting. You can also go online and see many weeks out and change any of those too. I will say this though, if you are picky picky and not open minded about trying new recipes, I don't know if you should sign up. Blue Apron's recipes are very unique and have a lot of ethnic flavor profiles and spices and things like that; but they have all been great, again, if you want to have fun and try new things. There have been a couple where we thought maybe we should change that, maybe we won't like it, but we didn't and just went ahead and tried it and we have not regretted it once. How easy is it to cancel if you do not like the food. I am scared of trying cause they might make me pay forever.

A:

They DEFINITELY hide the "cancel" button - I had to email them to find it, and they said "you can always just pause your deliveries!" but you have to hand click each week you want paused, and you can only go a few weeks out. If you do that and forget, deliveries will start up again automatically. It felt very sneaky.

The website is not easy. The delivery part is easy, but is is not tied into the account charges. You should be able to cancel without doing a separate email. You cannot tell from your account information how much you are being charged.

Hi Margaret, You can cancel anytime. You can even cancel your deliveries if you are going on vacation and then start up when you get back. The website is very easy and they thought of everything. I get my next box tomorrow and Im so excited! I am single, so I make the 2 portions at the same time and wrap up one and then have the same one the next day. So the 3 meal last me the whole week. I cant say enough good things about it! Your food comes from the best suppliers! No grocery stores and sitting out for we don't know how long. Just wait when you get your first box! You are going to be so excited! ;)
